Tne 12 Moroccan Regions under the spotlight:

  • Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, with Tangier-Assilah as its capital. It consists of the prefectures and provinces of Tangier-Assilah, M'diq-Fnideq, Tetouan, Fahs-Anjra, Larache, Al Hoceima, Chefchaouen and Ouazzane.
  • The Oriental region, with Oujda-Angad as its capital, consists of the prefectures and provinces of Oujda-Angad, Nador, Driouech, Jerada, Berkane, Taourirt, Guercif and Figuig.
  • The fez-Meknes region, with the capital of Fez, consists of the prefectures and provinces of Fez, Meknes, Hajeb, Ifrane, Moulay Yacoub, Sefrou, Boulmane, Taounate and Taza.
  • The Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region, with Rabat as its capital, encompasses Rabat, Salé, Skhirat-Témara, Kenitra, Khémisset, Sidi Kacem and Sidi Slimane.
  • The Region of Beni Mellal-Khénifra, with Beni Mellal as its capital, consists of Beni Mellal, Azilal, Fqih Bensaleh, Khénifra and Khouribga,
  • The Greater Casablanca-Settat region, with Casablanca as its capital, consists of prefectures and Casablanca, Mohammedia, El Jadida, Nouaceur, Mediouna, Benslimane, Berrechid, Settat and Sidi Bennour.
  • The Marrakech-Safi region, with Marrakech as its capital, includes the prefectures and provinces of Marrakech, Chichaoua, Al Haouz, Kelaa Sraghna, Essaouira, Rhamna, Safi and Youssoufia.
  • The region of Darâa-Tafilalet, with Errachidia as its capital, consists of Ouarzazat, Midelt, Tinghir and Zagora.
  • The region of Souss-Massa, with Agadir Ida-Outanane as its capital, encompasses the prefectures and provinces of Agadir Ida-Outanane- Inezgane Aït Melloul, Chtouka Aït Baha, Taroudante, Tiznit and Tata.
  • The region of Guelmim-Oued Noun, with Guelmim as its capital, consists of Guelmim, Assa-Zag, Tan-Tan, Sidi Ifni.
  • The region of Laâyoune-Saguia El Hamra, with Laâyoune as its capital, includes Laâyoune, Boujdour, Tarfaya and Smara.
  • The Region of Dakhla-Oued-Eddahab, with Oued-Eddahab as its capital, consists of Oued-Eddahab and Aousserd.
